Naughty technology

More apologies!
Due to iPads, apps and general technology being very naughty and not doing what it is supposed to do most of the time I am afraid this week has been devoted to trying to get everything up and running so that you all have lots of pictures to look at (and of course we have been helping and teaching the children too of course)
Unfortunately there hasn't been as many pictures taken as I would have liked but now this is all up and running we can be back on track (fingers crossed & wood touched).
So this week.. What have we been up to?
Learning our letters and sounds has continued with new ones being added every day, you may find your little loved ones looking for household objects beginning with the sounds, feel free to play eye spy whenever you get chance, that really helps them to remember and think about how words start :)
If you hear about Geraldine the giraffe don't worry we aren't turning into a zoo it is a rather silly giraffe we watch when learning our numbers, she has been rather popular with the children!

Oh and I can't talk about this week without mentioning the fire alarm! We have had 2 fire alarm practises now and that alarm is LOUD!! It can be very scary the first couple of times but the children have been brilliant each time and have coped very well with the noise and the upheaval from the classroom. Well done RL :)

Guess what we were up to last week

Ok so you don't have to guess, there are going to be pictures showing you but hopefully it got your attention.

Although the children have been kept very busy in the classroom I thought that this week it would be nice to focus on the outside adventures we've all been having. There have been even more 'firsts' going on outside with a new area being opened up every day for the children to explore. There has been the trim trail, house and pirate ship with big building blocks, a climbing frame, sand pit and the very exciting MUD GARDEN with real digging tools!
Particular areas have become more popular than others for some of the children and after having fistfuls of wonderful wriggly, muddy, worms shown to me I have to say I now have areas I prefer being in too! ;) Infact one of my favourite sayings that I have heard outside this week has been 'Hands up who's got wormy hands'. (You will be pleased to hear that there has been soap and hand sanitiser in abundance.

Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as the children have enjoyed doing the things in them :)

Let's pretend...

We all know the children love playing it so let's join them.
Lets pretend we haven't had any technical difficulties, that I am not ripping my hair out over blogs that won't publish and pictures that won't show up and that you haven't been waiting for weeks to see some pictures of your lovely children being busy in school.
Lets pretend we are in a time machine and let me take you back a couple of weeks...

Hello everybody
What a busy week it has been! Lots of 'firsts' have been experienced again this week..
The first full day spent in school.
The first time meeting new friends both in the classroom and the playground.
The first time meeting some teachers, dinner ladies and staff.
The first time to have lessons out of the classroom such as PE and ICT.
All that along with lots of other exciting (& some times maybe a bit scary) new things to encounter.

BUT the children are doing very well with adapting to all these new things and are hopefully coming home with lots of lovely stories for you about their day. Hopefully a bit tired by bed time too (we certainly are, haha)

Hope you enjoy the pictures and feel free to make comments :)

RL's blog (at last)

Hello and welcome to our class blog.

As you know, there have been a few technical difficulties with the last blogging site but don't worry, you haven't missed out! Here is the blog that was intended to go out in the first week... I will do my best to bring you up to date as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience :)

Hello
Well what a busy week it has been!
We are so pleased that all our children are settling into school so incredibly well and don't they look grown up in their new uniforms! They have had lots of fun in the classroom exploring the various activities we have set up. The jigsaws and painting area have been popular choices and we are starting to display some of the work around the class. There are so many you may have to get ready for a lot of paintings and pictures to be making their way home... Clear the fridge and get the magnets at the ready!
Hope you enjoy the blogs and pictures, you are very welcome to leave comments on any of the posts.

What a wonderful class

For the last time... hello everybody! It is usually at the start of a blog I say something like 'oo hasn't this week gone by quickly...
